Devine Street Rehabilitations

Project Name:

DEVINE STREET REHABILITATIONS

Program:

Exterior rehabiliation/renovation of two City of San Jose Historic Landmark buildings.

Description:

These two City landmarks required extensive repairs to remedy years of deferred maintenance. Wood trim was repaired throughout, historically inappropriate awnings were removed and replaced, and missing plaster moldings were replicated offsite and restored to their rightful locations. A decaying and hazardous exterior balcony and stair was replaced in kind with historically appropriate detailing. Flashing and new waterproofing details were added where necessary in an effort to combat future decay.

Finally, a new multi-colored paint scheme in keeping with historic character was developed to differentiate the two buildings from one another and highlight their intricate detailing.
