Project Name:
BOAMAN/SAVARD RESIDENCE
Program:
Whole house remodel with new second floor.
Description:
The clients’ primary goals for their project were a more appealing curbside appearance and a stronger connection to their generous backyard. The addition of a new second floor afforded the opportunity to dedicate the ground level to public spaces and transform the non-descript ranch house into a craftsman style bungalow in the Bay Region tradition.
The family room, breakfast nook, and dining room were laid out as an L-shape on the first floor to create a west-facing courtyard. Generous porches were added to both the front and rear to create transition zones between the indoors and outdoors.
