Project Name:
WALTERS RESIDENCE
Program:
New 2750 s.f. two story house in Spanish/Mission style, with partial reuse of existing foundation.
Description:
Having lived in the well-established traditional neighborhood of Willow Glen for over 10 years, our clients had a clear vision of a modestly-sized house that would blend well in its context of one and two story bungalows, unlike so many of the recently-constructed “monster” homes on the street.
The existing one-story floor plan was reorganized to create a strong connection to the clients’ lush backyard. Breaking up the exterior massing into a series of smaller volumes created an interesting roofline, while careful detailing of the exterior and interior reinforces the high quality of the finishes used.
