Three new live-work lofts in existing brick shell.

Description:

This project proposed the adaptive reuse of a contributing structure to the National Register District in San Jose’s historic downtown core, inserting three new loft-style live work buildngs into the brick shell of the vacant former auto repair shop.

Two of the three units featured ground floor office/studio space accessed off a common courtyard. The exterior finishes consisted of corrugated metal siding and aluminum sash windows, as well as industrial steel grate upper level walkways to allow light to filter into the courtyard space below.
